come certamente saprete, le Alpi Centro-Orientali presentano quest’anno un innevamento particolarmente scarso, con conseguente abbondante formazione di placche di ghiaccio, anche lungo il percorso della Grande Corsa Bianca.
Dopo una serie di bollettini meteo altalenanti, a oggi le nevicate sono previste scarse o assenti e la formazione di ghiaccio sul tracciato è in rapido e costante aumento, risultando già ora difficile anche solo raggiungere con i mezzi necessari alcuni punti di controllo.
Consci sia che questa situazione non potrà che andare progressivamente peggiorando sino alla prima nevicata significativa, che al momento non si intravede, sia che tali condizioni non permettono lo svolgimento della manifestazione in condizioni di sicurezza accettabili, sia che è necessario decidere già ora il da farsi per permettere a tutti di organizzarsi al meglio, comunichiamo il posticipo della data della Grande Corsa Bianca 2017 ai giorni 23/24/25 febbraio.
Confidando di vedervi comunque tutti ai nastri di partenza, ricordiamo ai concorrenti che purtroppo non potranno essere presenti di comunicarci la propria esclusione, anche per avere risarcita la quota di iscrizione.
As you already certainly know, this year the west-central Alpin sector presents an extremely low presence of snow. In order to allow everyone to get organized properly it is necessary to take a definitive decision about the destiny of the Grande Corsa Bianca 2017. Just few days ago, the numerous iced sections of the trail were under control and the weather forecast showed a good chance of snow that would have been able to improve the trail’s condition, right now the situation has dramatically gotten worse as the weather forecast says that it’s not going to snow and the temperatures will drop again, making the trail iced and impossible to reach even with the appropriate means of transport.
We know that the situation won’t get better until the next heavy snow fall, which seems to be far away, we have to postpone the race, waiting for better weather conditions.
In agreement with the volunteers and the associations involved in the organization of the race, the new race will take place during the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of February 2017. We hope to see you all at the start point, those who won’t be able to participate will be fully refunded the registration cost.
